Description
2027 Ducati Desmo450 EDX
2027 Desmo450 MX. Performance evolves.
The 2027 Desmo450 MX evolves thanks to experience at the racetrack and feedback collated in the field. New predictive maintenance, Pirelli Scorpion MX32 tires and numerous updates dedicated to reliability and ergonomics, including new rear gear and brake pedals, further improve the riding experience.
Still at the heart of the project are the 450 desmodromic engine, innovative aluminum frame with minimum weld joints, and Ducati electronics with dedicated MX traction control, for efficient performance and even more precise control in all conditions.
Explore the key characteristics
100% Ducati racing DNA in continuous evolution.
A project in continuous evolution, born from know-how gained in MotoGP and developed on the racetracks with the help of off-road riders and enthusiasts. The Desmo450 MX grows season after season thanks to experience developed through racing and the feedback of MX riders, which is transformed into tangible updates to increase performance, reliability and ease of use.
Features May Include:
Updated ergonomics for maximum control
The Desmo450 MX introduces a new gear shift pedal tip to improve ergonomics and ensure gear shifting is natural and precise, and a new brake pedal tip, now offering a larger contact area for greater stability and control. The ergonomics aim to facilitate rider movement and vehicle control. The new fuel cap with increased diameter of 1.5 inches (40mm) speeds up refuelling at the track.
Showa suspension
The suspension and brakes on the Desmo450 MX were a targeted choice. Ducati trusts in the extensive racing experience of Showa, its historic partner also for the road bikes. The 49 mm USD fork offers 310 mm of travel, while the shock, with 16 mm shaft and 129 mm of travel, is mounted on the cast swingarm. Total wheel travel is 301 mm.
High-performance Desmo450 single-cylinder
The Desmo450 MX is built around its beating heart: the 450 single-cylinder with desmodromic timing. The engine delivers maximum power of 63.5 hp at 9,400 rpm and maximum torque of 39.5 lb-ft at 7,500 rpm. The limiter is set at 11,900 rpm. Such high engine speeds reduce the need for gear changes, enabling faster starts and helping riders target the holeshot.
New Pirelli Scorpion MX32 tires and Brembo/Galfer braking system
The calipers and master cylinders are produced by Brembo, while the discs supplied by Galfer measure 260 mm at the front and 240 mm at the rear. The Desmo450 MX MY27 mounts new Pirelli Scorpion MX32 tires for guaranteed grip and performance in all ground conditions.
New 51-tooth rear sprocket
The rear sprocket now features 51 teeth, up from 49 previously, increasing the torque delivered to the wheel and making the Desmo450 MX even more responsive out of the corner and, particularly, when accelerating from low speeds.
New predictive maintenance
This innovation in the MX world is the result of experience in MotoGP. The engine’s service intervals are calculated based on intensity of use. Maintenance is split into two types of service: MID Service, which involves piston replacement and valve clearance check, and FULL Service, for a complete engine overhaul. Both intervals vary depending on wear and conditions of usage, for optimum long-term performance and reliability.
Custom Riding Modes
Thanks to the WiFi connectivity unit, available as an accessory, the user will be able to connect to the bike and use the dedicated X-Link app to customize the Riding Modes, keep track of service operations and monitor vehicle status.
New graphics for an even more aggressive look
Graphics comprising black lettering and an even more striking design underline the bike’s racing identity and aggressive character to ensure a look that is even more distinctive and immediately recognizable.
Stiffer suspension
To better match the demands of North American tracks, the 2027 Desmo450 MX features a dedicated suspension setup with a stiffer 50 N/mm rear shock spring and new forged triple clamps with a 22 mm offset. A focused upgrade that reflects the attention given to every aspect of the project.
